How can I recycle electrical devices and batteries?
The crossed-out wheelie bin means the product must not be disposed of with household waste and must be taken to a local recycling collection point.

How can I recycle or dispose of packaging waste?
Most packaging (pulp trays, cardboard, paper inserts) is made of fibre. Whether local recycling services accept it varies by region; dispose of it according to your local council's sorting instructions.
Look for markings such as Triman or OPRL on the packaging to sort the different packaging components correctly.
Returning waste batteries
Batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in household waste. As an end user, you are legally required to dispose of waste batteries separately from household waste. You can return waste batteries free of charge at public collection points and wherever batteries of the relevant type are sold.
What the symbols mean
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol means batteries and devices must not be disposed of with household waste. If a battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury, 0.002% cadmium or 0.004% lead, the chemical symbol of the substance appears below the bin: Hg (mercury), Cd (cadmium) or Pb (lead).
Taking back old devices
Under the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), we are required to take back old devices free of charge:
- When you buy a new device, we take back an old device of the same type that performs essentially the same functions free of charge. For deliveries to a private household, we collect heat exchangers (e.g. air conditioners), screen devices and large devices with an edge length over 50 cm free of charge on request.
- We take back small old devices with no external dimension over 25 cm free of charge, whether or not you buy a new device (up to three devices per device type).
To return a device, please email us at support@glendimplex.com. Alternatively, you can take old devices to municipal collection points free of charge.
Before disposal
- Remove batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed by the device, and lamps that can be removed without being destroyed, and dispose of them separately.
- You are responsible for deleting personal data on old devices (e.g. connected devices) before returning them.
