Dehumidifiers

Dehumidifiers

High indoor humidity causes condensation on windows, damp patches on walls, and creates the conditions where mould and dust mites thrive. A dehumidifier extracts excess moisture from the air, bringing humidity down to a comfortable, healthy level - and protecting your home from the longer-term damage that persistent damp causes.

Dimplex dehumidifiers cover a range of room sizes and extraction capacities. If you're dealing with laundry drying, a basement, or a persistently damp room, check the extraction rate (litres per day) on each model to match it to your space.

Dehumidifier FAQ's

How does a dehumidifier actually work?

A dehumidifier draws humid room air across a cooled internal coil, causing moisture to condense and collect in a removable water tank. The now-drier air is then returned to the room. Our EverDri dehumidifiers use compressor technology, which is the most common and cost-effective approach for home use, offering reliable performance across a range of extraction capacities.

Do Dimplex dehumidifiers come with a warranty?

Yes. All EverDri dehumidifiers come with a three-year warranty for added peace of mind. The warranty includes one year as standard, with a two-year extension available upon product registration. You can register your product quickly and easily on our website.

What humidity level should I set my dehumidifier to?

For most living spaces, a target of 40 to 50% relative humidity strikes the right balance between comfort and effective moisture control. Above 60% relative humidity, conditions become favourable for mould growth, dust mites, and mildew. Our EverDri models feature an adjustable electronic humidistat, so you can set your preferred level and let the unit maintain it automatically.

How do I choose the right extraction rate for my room?

Extraction rate is measured in litres per day and gives you an indication of how much moisture a dehumidifier can remove. It is worth knowing that UK extraction rates are measured at 30°C and 80% relative humidity, which reflects tropical test conditions rather than a typical UK home. In practice, you will see lower figures in cooler rooms. As a guide, our 10L model suits smaller rooms, the 14L works well for medium-sized spaces, and the 20L is suited to larger rooms, basements, or areas with persistent damp.

Can I use a dehumidifier to dry laundry indoors?

Yes, and it is one of the most effective uses for a dehumidifier in a UK home. Running our EverDri dehumidifier in a room where laundry is drying significantly speeds up the process while keeping moisture levels in the rest of the house under control. It is far more energy-efficient than relying on heating alone to dry clothes indoors.

Where should I position a dehumidifier for best results?

Place the unit in the room where moisture is most problematic, with enough clearance around it for air to circulate freely. For whole-home humidity control, a central hallway or landing works well. For targeted problems such as a damp basement, bathroom, or utility room, position the unit directly in that space. Keep doors and windows closed while the unit is running to get the most from it.
